Nolvadex is an interesting drug that has many great uses, but also some important to know side effects. Many people who enjoy bodybuilding use Nolvadex because it’s capable of increasing greatly the amount of testosterone that the body creates. It increases your testosterone levels by stimulating your LH production. LH stands for Luteinizing Hormone, and it plays a crucial role in having a healthy reproductive system.

Nolvadex is considered to be an anti-estrogen

This means it prevents estrogen influence, which in turn prevents the build up of estrogen and potentially estrogen induced tumors as well. There has been some very interesting research in using Nolvadex to contain or work against different types of breast cancer in both men and women. It is considered to be a good treatment option for the prevention of breast cancer in patients that have had ductal carcinoma. These patients are at a higher risk of developing breast cancer and there have been promising results with the use of Nolvadex as a preventative.

Although there are potentially some extremely positive benefits to blocking estrogen build up in the body, there are of course, also some negative possible side effects as well. Of particular importance is the fact that it can have negative effects on progesterone related steroids. As a result, it is strongly recommended that Nolvadex not be used in conjunction with certain steroids. A few examples include Deca and Trenbolone.

One of the reasons that Tamoxifen is popular among the bodybuilding crowd is that it does not have anabolic or androgenic effects. It works as we know, by blocking the estrogen receptors. Our brains notice the lack of estrogen, which cause the brain to respond by creating a surge in sex hormones, which then increases the production of testosterone. Nolvadex is very often used when body builders are completing a cycle of anabolic steroids. Anabolic steroids typically suppress the production of testosterone. Since Nolvadex causes a surge in the production of testosterone, it is the ideal steroid to add to what they commonly call their “washout cycle”. The washout cycle is the term they use for flushing the anabolic steroids out of their system.

There are a few more reasons why body builders prefer Nolvadex over some of the other options available to them. One of these is the fact that Nolvadex helps prevent water retention. It also helps prevent gynecomastia. Gynecomastia, for those that don’t know are commonly referred to as “man boobs”, and is a common side effect of taking anabolic steroids. For those that are concerned about safety, Nolvadex is considered one of the safest options, because it doesn’t actually get rid of all the estrogen in your body. Estrogen in small quantities is important to muscle growth, a properly functioning immune system and it’s also important to maintaining health cholesterol levels.
