If there is a problem that i plaguing the first world countries around the globe these days it is diabetes. It is not something that anyone wants to have but once youve got it, you can be sure that you have some serious work to do! So the burning question today will be how DO you treat something as serious and widespread as diabetes? Well lets find out.

At this point i am going to assume you know what diabetes is so lets just assume we have type 2 diabetes in this scenario. One of the most important thing in keeping yourself caught up and regular is to make sure that you are getting your A1C levels tested anywhere from 2 to 4 times per year! Now the exact number will be sorted out between you and your doctor so do not sweat that range, based on how old you are and several other extenuating factors you may be in the lower range of visits for now. The recommendation for a “healthy” A1C level is going to be somewhere just below 7%, so if you aren’t meeting that goal then clearly something needs to be done.

Now it could be something as simple as changing your medications around, that seems to be the medical societies way of “rebooting the router” to start solving problems, but if it is not then there are some things that you can actually do to make your A1C levels behave with no prescription required! Now do not get me wrong here, you still need to take your medications and insulin as directed by a medical professional but you CAN help the process along on top of that to make sure you are in tip top shape.

Most people probably won’t want to hear this one, but did you know that those key factors you always hear about that are known as diet, exercise, and eating right, are going to be your best friends on this bumpy ride? well they are so strap yourself in. The face of the matter is what you put in your body is probably the reason you are where you are in the first place. And even if its not, what you put in there from now on can at least help by actually lowering your bodys blood sugar levels. it is estimated that just losing around 5-10 pounds can have a decent impact on your blood sugar levels!

And while there is no rhyme or reason behind it, a diet with fewer calories, less sweets, less fats and more fruits n’ veggies can really change your entire structure! Also fiber, cannot forget that all purpose processor for the body known as fiber. So get out there, hit the treadmill, and eat your Wheaties folks because it might be the best thing you’ve ever done!
